We are now mere hours away from tonight’s Special Membership Meeting and the start of the contract ratification vote.
Voting will be open for several days afterwards (until EOD on 8/17), but tonight’s meeting represents a very important part of the democratic process. We have been struggling for this contract for well over a year. We have invested this moment with our hopes and fears and our desire for a better UIC. Please come to the SMM and express your opinions on the Tentatively Agreed-to contract tonight.
The meeting will begin at 6pm and will be held over Zoom. All members are strongly encouraged to attend. Bargaining Committee will present members with information about the TA’d contract and there will be opportunity for questions and debate. We will also kick off the ratification vote, which will take place entirely online. Prepare for the meeting by reviewing the member packet.
This vote will only be open to GEO members. If you are in the bargaining unit but not yet a member, you can find more info and sign a membership card on our website.
